Evolve Music - Freelance Project Coordinator


Contract: Fixed Term - 26 months

Hours: 6 hours per week

Salary: £10,000 (£15 ph)

Location of work: Work from Home with access to transport to Radstock, Somerset.


The Project Coordinator will work closely with the board of trustees and founders of Evolve Music to oversee and coordinate our Explorers Early Intervention project.

The key purpose of this role is to coordinate the named programme, taking care of all contracting, administration, reporting and ensuring that delivery is of a high standard. As Project Coordinator you will liaise with project partners, relevant community groups and freelance music leaders on a regular basis. You will support with monitoring the project to ensure they achieve their project outcomes. You will also look after the project budget, ensuring the project is properly resourced and report back on a regular basis to the board of trustees. You will be fully briefed on the project with clear project plans and evaluation requirements. You will also be supported by the board of trustees and founders of Evolve throughout.


Our Explorers Early Intervention Project will work with and provide music based interventions for children in their early years and their families in and around Radstock.  Working in partnership with Radstock Children Centre families requiring additional support for their child’s development will be referred to the programme. This project is funded by the St John’s Foundation and the Ragdoll Foundation.

The Role


  • Recruit, contract and manage all freelancer music leaders and volunteers associated with both projects.
  • Maintain project budgets to provide updates to the treasurer
  • Report regularly to the Board of Trustees on the progress and impact of both projects with written updates and attending board meetings when required
  • Liaise with all project participants, partners and stakeholders on a regular basis, keeping them up to date with the projects developments at each milestone
  • Attend sessions, when appropriate and support the music leaders in capturing monitoring data inline with the projects evaluation framework
  • Respond to all general enquiries made via email or social media Evolve Music
  • Represent Evolve Music on the ground by attending networking events where required
  • Update social media platforms and website where necessary with project information/news updates.
  • Undertake any additional roles that may be required to aid the smooth running of these projects

Personal Spec:

Access to own transport to attend sessions and meetings based in and around Radstock and the Somer Valley area.

Essential:

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage project budgets
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong people management skills
  • Understanding of socially engaged community arts practice
  • IT literacy with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Be able to communicate clearly and listen and understand people's needs
  • Understanding of the subsidised/charity sector
  • Be able to report confidently and clearly to a board of trustees
  • Ability to start in August 2019


Desirable:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in the arts/charity sector
  • Experience of monitoring/evaluating projects
  • Experience of running social media platforms including Facebook,Twitter and Instagram
  • Knowledge of community music sector in Somerset
